Casa Materia is a home located in the heart of Valencia’s Extramurs neighborhood, designed with a clean and warm aesthetic that fosters serenity and emotional comfort.
The project aimed to address the home’s new functional needs by adapting the spaces and uses while preserving key traditional elements of its original architecture. The result is a relaxing environment that exudes balance and tranquility.
The selected materials, such as handcrafted glazed clay tiles, natural white stone, and warm oak-toned flooring, stand out for their rich textures. Their combination creates visual contrasts and sophisticated plays of light, adding warmth and elegance to the space. The connection between rooms is achieved through an open-plan design that seamlessly integrates the spaces.
The transitions between walls and ceilings are softened with gentle curves that evoke minimalist sculptural forms, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.
This environment is further enriched by furniture and decorative elements that celebrate tradition and craftsmanship. Examples include restored wood-and-wicker chairs, tapestries, and artworks adorning some of the home’s walls.
Additionally, the original wooden windows and shutters have been preserved, maintaining their unique character.
