Design coworking space in one of the most inspiring neighborhood of Valencia.

After several collaborative projects between WAYCO and HEBRA, the opportunity arose to renovate and interior design a very important building in the Cabanyal-Canyamelar neighborhood to create the new WAYCO CABANYAL space.
The intervention was a great challenge, since the building had received great recognition at an urban and architectural level, and over time it had become a landmark within the neighborhood. It is a complex that was designed to house all types of companies, since the floors are open plan and it has a very good organization of the facilities and communication between the different areas.
Despite this, it was in a state of almost abandonment as it remained inactive for some years. The exterior of the building is very elaborate, with double heights, clean volumes, open-air terraces and a skin of ceramic slats that surrounds its entire perimeter, allowing bioclimatic control ideal for a work environment.
The strategy was to create a design concept that transmitted the chromatic richness, the great traditional personality of the neighborhood and that, in turn, communicated the WAYCO values of coexistence, flexibility, youth and diversity.
The coworking has a restaurant, semi-indoor and outdoor terraces, training and event rooms, private offices, meeting rooms, fixed and flexible work areas (for short stays), a recording room for podcasts and a rest room, among others.
Each graphic and aesthetic resource has been based on a reference to the picturesque character of the Cabanyal neighborhood. That is why materials such as ceramic tiles, wood, Alicante blinds, traditional marbles and color ranges ranging from green to blue are used, as the most typical facades of the traditional architecture of the area.
The rooms and terraces also take the name of some of the historical landmarks of the neighborhood, such as Ateneo Marítimo, Sala Atarazanas or Sala El Grau. This is a way to honor popular culture and familiarize these names with the foreign coworker who uses the facilities.
